Band Video / NEED HELP!!!!

Post by anaseed »

Hi ,im quite new to video editing and have for the past couple of months been putting together a band video for broadcast over TV ,(mtv etc) but the problem i have is that we have a few named people in the video and a special effects guy has done some clips with sombody superimposed into the vid the problem is that he has DIVX'ed the video to send to me on CD. The video is done i managed to de-compress the DIVX stuff into RAW Avi and then into DV ,all the footage has been editied in Vegas Video3 and all is well except the special effects bits jerk ,or jump and i have noticed that for some reason there are double frames intermittently through the clips ,i haven't a clur how maybe the fault of DIVX but it is not exceptable now i have managed to go through the vid frame by frame and remove one of the duplicate frames but this make the clip play faster at the parts where i have removed the frames and the overall clip is shortened(obviously) has anyone got any help that can get me out of this mess? i need to remove the double frames or one and then make it so it playe's smooth ,any help please i only have 2 weeks to finish this before it go's to be transferred to BETASP ,HELP!!! anything!. Some of the clips are not sync to the audio so i can fiddle if it makes the clip smaller but how do i get it to stop speeding up? im going nuts!

Umm I'm not sure sorry... But surely your friend noticed these double frames before he gave you the CD?

Maybe he used a lower frame rate?

Hard to say without seeing it. Would have happened in the rendering process and should have been picked up then.
I have had trouble with DivX occasionally with the audio and video peing out of cync but that is about it.
Also i have noticed that i cannot export DivX to my VCR. Only the audio gets through. Is this a common problem?
