NTSC video only b&w!

Post by ronik24 »

Hello,

I have got a NVidia Geforce4 Ti4600 card from MSI and use NV WDM 1.2.2 drivers for capturing.

Now I want to capture pictures from a NTSC VHS cassette with PAL video recorders (already tried a few).

Sadly I could only see B&W pics on the PC, on TV it shows normally in colour.

I played around with registry-entries and found out to my surprise that the value "VideoStandard" was set to NTSC but NTSC wasn't shown correctly.

When I set it to PAL, PAL images showed better and NTSC showed a little colour but was flickering badly due to different frequency.

What other values could I set to see NTSC in colour?

Again:

- VideoStandard NTSC:
PAL in colour a little streched vertically
NTSC B&W

- VideoStandard PAL:
PAL in colour
NTSC a little colour but flickering badly

Thes are the other registry-entries

Thanks a lot for your help!

Greetings,
Roni

Could be something as a bad connection in the cable! Try swapping the cables over, and see if this helps! You're probably using an S-Video cable, use a composite video cable to see if the problem disappears.

Hello,

No, I'm using composite connectors.
Everything connection-wise seems to be fine.

S-VHS could be possible with composite+adapter...
Also don't know how it could be the connection if PAL video is in perfect colour...

Greetings,
Roni
