With the advances in video cards recently, it's not going to make a huge difference which one you get. however, there are a few things to put on your wish-list:

BIG memory - Saves using up the PC's memory for display, it's also faster for the graphics processor to cache to it's own memory rather than relying on PC memory bandwidth.

2D Accelleration - Make sure the processor is geared up for fast 2D graphics accelleration. Many graphics cards are great for 3D games, but fall down flat when it comes to regular 2D pictures and things. If your card doesn't have good 2D accelleration, it'll start pinching processor power to do the job.

Dual monitor support - Can't think of anything better than having a second monitor (I actually use a RGB monitor hooked up through it's composite video input). The card should have an option for TV output for this second monitor. It's an ideal tool for seeing how it'll look when played on a TV.

I also use the Matrox G400, it's an older card, but the 2D accelleration is still very good on it - It was a borderline professional graphics card when it first came out.

Do you run 98 or XP?

The software the card uses will not run under XP for myself!
