Creating money?...
Well, in one scene in a film I am doing tomorrow, the character opens a briefcase to show that it is full of money. As the case will be a closeup, play money really isn't an option. I have already filled the case to the brim with empty VHS tapes, so that I simply have to line the top with bills, and it will give the illusion of being full. So I need maybe 20 bills, and I only have 2.
I tried printing off some one sided bills, and the printer cut off in the middle with this printed out: www.rulesforuse.org
Any way to get some quick, relatively realistic prop money? (Besides rich friends?)

Doesn't MH have this in the making bits of one of his films, he does exactly the same thing... How about scanning in the notes you already have and printing that off, or printing off of the internet... Or you could use your own real money??

I have tried scanning in my own money, but when printing it off (I put the money pic in Word, then copied it so 3 fit on a page), it stops and prints out the website link. How about scanning in the notes you already have and printing that off, or printing off of the internet... Basically, it seems impossible to print out money pics!!
Have you tried printing... Try searching Google, I just did that and found that image.
With the scanning in thing, what is the name of the picture, that you put in word and are trying to print off? Otherwise, I think the scanner has picked up some special thing in the note, preventing you from printing.

I got a picture of a $100 (like the one way above) and brought it in photoshop to get it to size with a real dollar and then I just printed it off of windows picture preview and it worked. I got a warning from Photoshop when I tried to print it off of there.
Although, you might want to print in really small letters the word "Fake" or something along those lines.

In case the local police are in a bad mood and find you with this case full of one-sided banknotes, maybe you should print FAKE in large letters on the other side, so the police don't have anything to charge you with, just in case.

OK, thanks! I'll try the Window Picture Preview option. Thanks for the tips, Jperson...but the $100 you found is a little small. To resize it, I would need to bring it into the computer, which would not work...
Tried what you said, Ken. I had 3 $20s scanned and put online, then downloaded it and tried to print...didn't work either!!!

A counterfeit deterrence system (CDS) has been developed by the CBCDG to deter the use of personal computers, digital imaging equipment, and software in the counterfeiting of banknotes. The CDS has been voluntarily adopted by hardware and software manufacturers, and prevents personal computers and digital imaging tools from capturing or reproducing the image of a protected banknote. The technology does not have the capacity to track the use of a personal computer or digital imaging tools."
Looks like this is hardwired into my computer...internet connection not required for it to come into effect. I'll keep you guys posted.

In the last movie I've been working on, the producer simply cashed part of the production budget at the bank. I'd never seen so many $100 bills in one place. Talk about an expensive prop.
