SFX question
We are wanting to purchase a sound FX library for birds & animals and have found 3 libraries that look good:
Animal Trax (Hollywood Edge)
Just Birds & Animals 1&2 (Sound Ideas)
Wild World of Animals (Sound Ideas)
Does anyone know which of these libraries would be the best and/or know of any better libraries available?
Thanks,
J Mitchell

Umm, never heard of them... The best sound effect librarys are the BBC ones. They're used so often in both amatuer and professional productions.
In fact after several years of adding skid sound effects to my films I've become so used to the noise that I can spot it in several films and TV shows! But that's how widely used they are...

TYVM! That's nice, guys!
If it makes you feel any better... we were in a big hurry to do this, so I posted all over the internet, got a bunch of replies via email, & made the purchase before I saw your replies. Nice to know there are some cool ppl on this board! Hehe, on one forum I got 2 replies, both sarcastic and very unprofessional...and these were from "senior" members, too. :\
Ah, but there are clowns in every field...
Great to meet you all again & hope to see you soon

They can reject my work in competitions and festivals (I have been rejected from the finest festivals available including Cannes)!
But they can not take my creativity!!!

Just in case anyone wants this info...
Punchi, you were right to go with "Animal Trax" (since you were buying). Everything Hollywood Edge puts out is quality and "Animal Trax" is no exception.
Most of what Sound Ideas puts out is likewise very good stuff, but they went wrong with "Wide World of Animals" somehow, mostly it blows.
Although I haven't heard it, I think "Just Birds and Animals" might be compiled from other (newer) SI libraries and newly made. Anything recorded fresh by them in the last 8 years or so sounds great.
Ornsack, I can't agree with you that the BBC libraries are the "best" ones, but I'm not saying that there is another library that sounds better. BBC, Sound Ideas, and Hollywood Edge are equivalent quality when you are looking at the best work from any of them - and like all things, different companies do different things better. I will say, BBC does put out some tasty bird tracks.
Sound Ideas actually reps BBC now, they are at http://www.sound-ideas.com/ and Hollywood Edge is at (surprise) http://www.hollywoodedge.com/
Both sites have some free sound effects and demos, and of course, loads of information on what they sell if you're looking to spend.
