That was well done!

Where'd you get the sound effect?

One way to improve this would be to fade the smoke trail immediately after the explosion. It hangs around too long.

Good!

I'd improve it by slightly less camera shake (a hint would usually do but in your case it might just be good to start violently and tame the last few shakes, as opposed to violent shakes and then just stopping suddenly)

Stick some white or something at the top to disguise the cinema bars shaking and all!

And if you really want to play about with it a lot then I'd start the meteor slightly slower so it looks like it speeds up as it gets closer to the camera ('cus of the constant speed and the perspective change it looks a bit like it slows down before impact)

Just my two cents anyway. It's actually very good!

Here's my Particle Illusion fireball fest...

Ornsnack: that looks funny as hell, good job.

I'm saying what are the other choices other than this. I think it is worth the money to buy it from videocopilot compared to other companies like digitaljuice

That was good, milinem. I think what really caught my eye was the color grading (if you did any). The video had a crisp, contrasted look to it. The sound effect was great.

Like ornsack said, you should put a black matte where the widescreen bars are, so that when you add shake to the video the whole frame doesn't move.

It was a good attempt. I thought the meteor iteself and the smoke trail looked pretty convincing, but after the buildup the explosion wasn't as impressive. The flash lasted too long and the fire was a little hoaky. The blast should be qiuck and maily smoke. Keep up the good work.

Haha, very nice, Ornsack.

yeh, the initial explosion looked good along with the cam shake, so did the meteor but the smoke trail hung around for too long and the fire at the end looked like cr**.
but fix up those and you have yourself a pretty impressive effect.

kool effect, but make sure when you vibrate the camera, put that before the widescreen bar layer because you are shaking that.

sorry if some one has already said this

Yuh good. er, a couple of suggestions: 1. After the first explosion there should maybe be another couple of explosions as other things explode (like gas stored in the house or whatever...car in a garage, always makes the explosion cooler, more interesting and mroe realistic). 2. I think that when you do explosions it is always cool to do it from a home video, mobile phone video point of view. E.g. Quite shaky and after the explosion the camera jerks upwards. 3. As well as shaking the camera side ways you could have it blown back a bit.

I should get practising soon for explosions...I'm going to have to blow up Machester Stadium (Old Trafford) soon, looking forward to it, but unsure of what approahc I"m going to take.
