Post by mickcar73 »

ok , any way i always wondered how you did this ,for example you can matte in an explosion and chroma it bla bla onto ur footage , but how wud you go about putting the explosion behind something in the frame , like a tree and the explosions behind it . Ive got adobe premiere pro 2 so does anybody know how id go about doing that if its possibel, or do i need after effects

Duplicate the clip and put it on the second track, matte the first track's tree with maybe an 8 point garbage matte, then put the keyed explosion between the 2 clips.

If it's just the tree trunk you have to key out, you can probably get away with it in Premiere. If the trunk is curved, you will have some trouble, because you cannot make Premiere's garbage mattes Bezier, or curved.

If, however, other parts of the tree besides the trunk need to be taken care of, you will need After Effects to handle this. After Effects would be able to easily matte out anything complex. If you need it, I could key it for you.
