Finish for airsoft guns that makes them look like metal.
I usually use Cheap black matte finish spraypaint, and krylon semi-gloss protective finish (Actually designed for ink drawings, but seems to work well) or if I want the tactical look, just matte paint. Does anyone else have any suggestions? The semi-gloss finish is a bit pricy and is very picky about the temperature you use it at.

I actually shot our guns with alluminum paint first. Then shot a gloss black over it, kind of misting it on. Then shot a mist of flat on it. Turned out really neat, gives that metal black shiny flat look...if that makes any sense. Used the flatter stuff on the handles and things like that, made the gun part with shiny parts.

Hmmm. I'd like to give that a try. Do you mean alluminium-colored paint, or alluminium-based Paint? And Where do you get it. Here in Wyoming they actually card you for certain typs of spray paint, so if you can get it at any old paintstore then that's what I'll do. Also, do you know of any where to buy the guns wholesale? I've been looking, and the only place I've found is swordsonline.com, but they charge 13 dollars for the shipping of one item,so you really have to buy bulk.

I bought ours at Big 5 sporting goods. Alluminum paint..not sure what difference you are making there, but it was in a krylon can if that helps, really shiny and looks like alluminum..like what you would spray on getto wheels to look like you spent money...lol

I filled the clip of our airsoft G36 with pennies. Worked a treat. Doing something for real is better than faking it.AgentDick wrote:Nah. Just get good at acting like it has some heft. Easier. Even if I do weight them. I usually just put a steel rod in the barrel and a bag of shot in th place where the clip goes. Not hard.
