Fake Hammer

Post by Dudeaz »

Hey everyone , i was just wondering if it would be possable to make a hammer out of sponge ( for the top part) and use a real wooden handle with a blood pump in the bottom so that when you strike you can squeeze the pump and cover your actor in blood to make it look like they have actually been hit. Any one got any views on this ?
Ive made an initial sketch on it. Part A would "squirt " out the blood and part B would go up your sleeve and over to your other hand so the pump can be used.

Thanks in advance

I know it would work but not sure how real it would look.

Sponge wouldn't work, cold foam would but would need an outer layering of latex.

When you think about it, the blood comes from the person, not the hammer. Put a blood pump on the person. Problum solved.

You can hide a small tube easy in there hair, where you would not see the cuts, but the blood will run down there face.

Just change the angle everytime he gets hit, to make it fast pased. And for everytime u change it, u can add in the blood. Cheapest method.

Oh man, Cradle of Fear was soooooo bad. Dani Filth should stick to singing. Multiple cuts and an ever increasing supply of blood is definately the way to go though. For very quick cuts you can also start with the hammer on the victim, pull it away quickly and then reverse the footage in post. Use this method very sparingly though, or else it becomes too obvious.

We used that for a sword slash once. Pretty useful, the trick is in the cutting of the film, not in the acting

all you need to make a prop, would be pink insulation foam, and glue, glue the chunks you want and carve it to make it look right.
