Due to the compression, you may have problems reading a part in the movie, I've included the actual frame so u can understand what it says.

RE: Movie Online: Dead Conspiracy (2005, Action)
Well, I downlaoded the trailer.
From what I did see, it looked deccent. The plot synopsis looked good, so you've got the story. From a trailer prospective it didn't accomplish what I hoped it would. Whats that? To get me to want to watch the full thing! Althougth it was good, the music deffintly did NOT work with the footage. The music adds to the emmotion oh so much, and it defftintly didn't set that for me. Spiderman music dosn't go good with that .
The text was average, I would have gotten some other sort of font and background, but don't worry to much about that.
The structure of the trailer is what concerned me. In a trailer, I didn't want to just see text and some action clips. I wanted to see some dialuge, with some text mixed in, to show what it's about, and maybe towards the end have the music speed up more and show some action clips and such, rather then just showing random clips with text, and then shooting. Overall the film does look deccent, and I'll consider downloading it in the near future.
I give the trailer a C as a final grade however. Hope to see more of your stuff soon.

RE: Movie Online: Dead Conspiracy (2005, Action)
I know man, it wasn't really a trailer. That was why some poeple started calling it a teaser. The whole point making that trailer, which I did as soon as I was going to publish the movie here, was to show what the film would look like: action, shooting with guns, and more shooting .
It seems to me you're quite the critique here, so I'd love to hear what you think about the movie.

Yeah. I'll give it a look for you, when I can find some time. Them saying teaser is the right word to use, it does "tease" us about the film. Althougth, the snyposis and image were convincing, so I wanted to be more then teased. It's all well though, as for a teaser i'd give it a B.

RE: Movie Online: Dead Conspiracy (2005, Action)
I just watched it, and it has by far the best special effects/editing that I've ever seen in an amateur film. The only thing that p*** me off is if you had put as much effort into the actual making of the movie that you did during post-production, then this would have been the best amateur film I've seen so far, because let's face it, the acting/camera angles is nothing we haven't seen millions of times before. And watching how you guys hold your guns is really making me think that I need to get that Online Boot Camp finished up (quick tip - no matter how small it is, don't hold an MP5 like a regular pistol) But other than that, yeah I was pretty much blown away by it. Great job on a well made little flick.

B-E-A-utiful! Loved it from heart to finish! Definitly action packed till the end! Only things you need to work on is a little bit better sound quality and a bit better lighting. GREAT muzzle flashes too! On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best, I definitly rate this fine piece of excellence a 10!

Good observation. Our problem with sound was that (and I think the sound problems occured here) we were ontop of a roof, and it was windy, rainy and cold! (Canadian weather), which surely made thinks worse for the audio aspect. Anyways, we must improve upon sound in the future, though I think the sound didn't destroy the movie, and if it did, it was just in those scenes.lethelgirth87 wrote:Only things you need to work on is a little bit better sound quality and a bit better lighting.

Definately a good job. Can't deny that. But what's with the voices? LOL and some of the speaking parts sound a little ' read '
Good points:
pacing
muzzle flashes
music ( although i know a lot was not original )
editing was pretty good
computer screens/ special effects
Bad points:
some of those speaking parts LOL
the younger guys with the fake beards and mustaches ( not sure if you were going for a parody feel or some thing more comical , but that stuff looked a little fishy )
I give it a solid B

I hope you were going for a parody with the huge mustache, because it made me laugh. Also, tell the "fat guy" to shave, lol. Peach fuzz mustaches look very immature.
Muzzle flashes were very nice, one or two bugged me, but they were awesome on the whole. I loved your use of establishing shots, that really made the film for me. I think your technical problems have been mentioned already, but I'll say the big thing for me again: do a bit of work on your lighting. Then you'll be making, in my mind, movies that are hollywood-level with regard to the technical aspects.

Yes, those beards were put to make some people laugh. I found the short, black bearded terrorist to be the funniest. What quality version are guys downloading? Low or High? Just wondering.

I did the recoil slide back thingy in post. We didnt have blank guns, we were just lucky to have someone infatuated with toy guns. Many of the mechanical (parts that moved) guns had to be painted black.tallman_house_pictures wrote:very nice
Nowd ya get the slide to recoil back? was it in post or did you have a blank gun?

To make a recoil in Photoshop is pretty easy. Select the slide of the gun and make a copy of it. For the first frame that the gun fires, paste it as far back as the slide would go if it were real. Do this in a different layer, then add a directional blur at the angle the gun is at. Along with a flick of the wrist from the actor and a well done muzzle flash, this should do it. Cheers.

I used AfterEffects. For me, I cant stand doing it in photoshop! I hate having to export frame, which inevitable renders that frame different from all the others (because when I export frame, you are, in my case, compressing it, and changing aspect. Happens to me all the time > : (

Can you please tell me more about how you made the slides move in After Effects? I am trying to do a similar effect and I agree that doing it frame for frame in photoshop is annoying and time consumingV|Esquilaxer wrote:I used AfterEffects.
