I really liked it, except: the dialoge seemed somewhat forced, and the frame fade into frame thing in the middle of battle scenes bugged the cr** out of me! I was really getting into the battles, then it would start lagging, like playing CoD online then someone with dail up comes on; it looks good in trailers but not in a movie. But the ambient sounds you put in were great, it really felt like your in the heat of the battle, and the mortor sounds were good too, are they from MoHAA?

Well, thanks for all the feedback and yes, some of the sound effects were from MOHAA.

Very good work. I too was wondering about your technique for getting both ambient sounds and the mortars. Also the sound from the clip on the Garand ejecting itself

Bravo! Very cool! And nice to see a movie on here that can strike an emotional chord

Nice work with the colourisation (dunno if that's a word... and even if it is, it'd be 'colorization' for you US folk.....aaaaanyway), very cool

Only bad thing about it was the uber shakey camera at times! Wasn't too bad though.

I haven’t been able to listen to all of it yet, as I’m at work, but the parts I did hear seemed really well scripted. As I have an interest in World War 2, and the fact that I liked 'Saving Private Ryan', and 'Band of Brothers' I have a few comments which I hope will help you if you make another WW2 based film. They are:

Criticism -

1) It started off slow. Films these days tend to have an opening scene that grabs your attention straight away. (Saving Private Ryan had the Normandy Landings)
2) Your actors are good, but they don't seem to me as soldiers. They don't move like they are trained, and they don't fight like they are trained. Two things in particular - they like to stand out in the open and talk, even when they are in German infested areas, when they march they are bunched together making it easier for Germans to pick them all off, and on 14 mins. when they see the German guard, the commanding officer should have them off the path and under cover straight away.
3) On explosions near them I would recommend showering with dirt.
4) Some guy in T-shirt in background on 08:20 mins.
5) Shame about wind. Makes it seem like a thunderstorm is coming.
6) Black point on 23.30 seemed to last that bit too long.

What I liked:

1) You seem to have got the music, acting, and words (or none at all) right in certain scenes that capture the sadness of the scene well.
2) Nice short silhouetted shots.
3) Gun firing looked good, flashes well placed.
4) Great props.
5) Liked explosions of dirt from mortars and bullets - would recommend more.
5) The photograph in the frame was a nice shot to focus on.
6) I liked how the grandchild changed his mind about chucking his grandad's war gear away.

One more thing: what did you use for the grass being shot up from the Mg-42 or 38?

I'd love to remake Forgotten, just for fun, that'd be kool. But I have absolutely NO war film props.

...downloading...

I've got some pretty good ideas for bullet hits aswell, tie some fishing line or thread to a few branches of a plant, pull them, it would look pretty kool.

BTW my gunshots are gonna be alot different from wut they usually are, mostly smoke, bullet casings, and a transparent orange flash here and there. For the smoke, I'm gonna film an airsoft gun shooting flour on a black-screen. For the flashes im just gonna use some fire-crackers in a PVC pipe on a black-screen. It should look pretty sweet.

You could just use the dirt hits from Det. Films, that's what I'm using.

Eh, they don't look as good. Superimposing them is kinda cheesy.

that's wut im gonna do though, i can make that stuff look damn good! I'm gonna use a powerful fire-cracker w/ a packet of flour or dirt, and use that, should look good.

Well it was for more of a drama then an action ( I'm guessing , correct me if i'm wrong gyro ) but none the less great film. Glad to see you got some hosting on this.

In response to :
1) It started off slow. Films these days tend to have an opening scene that grabs your attention straight away. (Saving Private Ryan had the Normandy Landings)
2) Your actors are good, but they don't seem to me as soldiers. They don't move like they are trained, and they don't fight like they are trained. 5) Shame about wind. Makes it seem like a thunderstorm is coming.
6) Black point on 23.30 seemed to last that bit too long.
1) Well yeah, but thats what makes his film different? Nothings wrong with a slow dramatic opening.
2) True. Another thing, he is using friends as actors, and they are all around 16 or such, and obviously not all of the army was that young on either side, which subtracts realism.
3) Good suggestion.
4) I'll have to check on that one. I'll edit this later.
5) Yeah.. recommend using a windshield next time
6t) Again, i'd have to check.
Sigs suck a**.
