Internet explorer problem
ok so on my other computer i accidently got rid of internet explorer. now i need it for a site that can work through firefox. i downloaded internet explorer 6 and installed, but the internet explorer icon on my desktop brings me to internet properties when i double click it instead of giving me an internet window. suggestions?

windoes explorer is internet explorer, so open up say network connections, or my documents, then up in the address bar put the URL...but if that doesnt work i believe your screwed.

That's crazy! Don't do that. Have you tried opening it from the most basic levels? The download file might also have been corrupt or something. So reinstall it and re-download it. If that doesn't work, it's beyond me.chchaisson1 wrote:re-install the Windows XP OS, that's my advice.

You could reinstall as a repair, the first repair option you get will be to use the recovery console, go on past that, and you wil get an option to repair XP, use that one, then reapply any service packs. should restore all the windows system files and leave the registry and applications intact. Do not use a manufacturers recovery disk, these almost always format the drive in the process..
