How to do a split screen in Premiere?

Post by Vamp »

I know the method of going to transparency and than just making a garbage matte over half of the video so the background comes through, but then half of the video cuts out... Is there a way to do a split screen where the whole video is squeesed to fit in the area that the split makes?

Just use the motion fixed effect( allready on every bit of footage). Turn off aspect ratio and make the width 50 % change the X axis position to half its current value. place the right hand side footage in another layer a do the same to the width but multiply the x pos value by 1.5

Is that possible with 6.5?

With the motion settings, what is the fill color thing for? I've always wondered and always just set it to black by default... what would I use it for?

Fill color is for when you don't have any video present in the frame, the empty space will be filled with that color.
