Your Opinion Would be Greatly Appreciated
Alright, here is my first attempt at Muzzle flashes, Please give your feedback, and one of the greatest tools: your critizism.

Remember, First attempt. Ignore gunshot sound. Its pretty cheesy.

I dont think the flash was too bad but the general framing of the shot was awful. The fridge seems to dominate the shot and the gun disappears out of shot for the second gunshot. The aim of the gun is also quite random.
I did quite like the titles as well.

To critique the flashes only: they looked quite good. Perhaps a little too straight, not as spread out as I like them, but they were well placed, and the smoke looked good. Overall, as far as a test goes, not bad.

What program did you use to make 'em?
Ever Listen To K-Billy's Super Sounds of the Seventies?

That was pretty good I thought, over the summer I made a war movie using the flashes Matt offers... They're good but after over 1000 shots, they really dont look that real... Im working on a Matrix Romeo and Juliet flick and the script calls for guns, I would like to try something new. Could you send me the stock footage you used?

That was better than most fake muzzle flashes I've seen. On a related note: I've recently been getting full auto training shooting the real things (Mac10, MP5, UZI, M16) and i'm here to say, that except for the M16, the others don't flash. Even the m16 only flashes a little (or if you take off the flash suppressor). Hollywood has so conditioned us to see flashes that aren't usually there. Typically its just a strong flash of smoke.

Blade is just being an, hmm, what's the word that rymes with grass toll? Anyways, I understood that the framing, acting, etc. wasn't the point, just the muzzle flashes, and they were great. Now put them to good use in something that's not just a variation off the "a bunch of teenagers run around a house shooting each other"

1) Your titles kicked trash all over the place, and were pretty sweet for a test.
2) The flashes, while being very good, don't seem suited to the guns being used. They look like flashes that belong in a western movie, coming from a Colt revolver.
3) Call me crazy, but the second shot didn't seem to be in alignment with the barrel of the gun. It seems to be shooting more parallel to the floor than the gun's barrel would allow.
4) Smoke was nice, but in my opinion was excessive. Keep in mind I am not an authority on handguns. But to me, just seemed like it was too much for a single shot.
Final Grade: B+

The framing could have been a little longer and shake free. However, a good overall clip. It was hard to make the smoke hold on a mussle point because the frame was moving. Try holding a frame longer from a more head on angle. I try to hole my frames very still and add most effect...Like I did in this shot of a short movie I made in Japan of the Tokyo Goverment Building last week. mms://zulu.wdevn.com/enter/japanbigboom2.wmv (@141K)
