That depend on what program(s) you have available - generally it will be a color key or chroma key...

I don't use premiere but I think it's something like color key or chroma keyer...

You could search the forum, someone's probably asked this before :P

you just place your green screen footage in the track above whatever you want in the background and then you right-click on the green screen footage and click "Transparency". Then a dialog comes up, here you simply select Green Screen from the drop down box and tweek the cut-off and threshold till you get it right.

when you use a green screen, and say you take it any to put space in with stars, do you click on something and say swap green to black and star or is it more complicated like you have to cut around the figures and stuff to more the screen out of the way.

Premiere has something called "Green screen key" "Luminace key" "Blue screen key" and "Chorma key" Unless i'm missing one? Anyway you apply the filter to the footage, then use the threshold and cutoff to adjust the keying.
