From what I have heard, it still uses the winmedia 9 codec, just a different player, which also allows you to shop online music stores in-player.

It's ok, but yeah it's probably not necessary. One thing I would really not install is SP2. Bad news from what I've heard. Wouldn't surprise me if the "necessry" win update also comes with some nice microsoft spyware!
If I could, i would move to linux, but the fact is I have too many windows programs right now that I paid a lot of money for.

microsoft spywere, SP2 actually increased my preformance of my PC...so i like it...but i got an early version of it tho, that doesnt effect firewire cr**, i saw a post bout that, and i had my cousin tim come over with his cam, and his firewire thing, worked like a charm....

Hell i had to get a new version of WMP 9 cause a virus ate a file and made it cr** so i had to download a new one. i watch videos and play music on it i dont need to buy music microsoft is trying to get more coin if you know what i mean
