they look great. What app did you do them in? Someone needs to write a thorough tutorial on this for all the apps. Seems thats this effect is easier in Blender and Lightwave, when it seems near impossible in 3d studio.

That is a fairly easy task in 3ds Max if you know the program, have a little creativity, and of course the patience to do it. I am not about to write a tutorial out for the programs though!
To start, you must import the footage, create a plane, and match it to the dimensions of the scene in virtual space. Apply the textures to it, then you can add warps and whatever you want to it! There is a whole tutorial for that in 3ds Max! Check it out and have some fun!

Lol too bad I didn't see this post earlier. I actually did this effect the way insert_coin describes it to be done this summer, offcourse using 3d studio max. I don't have an example online anymore, but maybe I'll render out one later if I could only find the .max file... Damnit... But basically I think I used some kind of built in modifier and tweaked it to get about the same result as the ones posted above..
