You can be like DeadLogic and simply build your own weaponry. It is time consuming, but you don't really need much accuracy for props to look good on film.

Well, not sure about the ammo, but as far as guns go, I saw some really good cap guns at the local Wal-Mart. I know, I know, neither cap guns nor Wal-Mart sound too appealing when it comes to quality props, but they actually are. There were three varieties of them there, one looked like a Beretta (this is the one I got), one I couldn't identify, so I won't try, and the other was a VP70. Best of all, they were to scale, and they all have movable, spring-loaded slides, removeable magazines and silencers. Of course, the silencer does nothing, and the slide, silencer and mag are all bring orange, but such things can easily be remedied. If you were to look around you could probably find them. They're made by Imperial Toys, but when I checked the website they had nothing on there about them, so you'll have to check the stores, but they're deffinately worth a look if you need prop guns and can't afford Airsoft. These are only about $7!

What? Walmart is selling Berettas? Last time I was in any one of those places, the clerks told me they'd been pulling out all their cap guns and accessories because of our new California state laws. I Can't Even Buy Caps Anymore! Thank goodness for the web!
