Looking for a sound effect creating program
does anyone know a program that will allow me to edit sounds and create my own sound effects and music?

There are a lot of programs out there for editing sounds. Personally, I use Adobe Audition. For creating sound effects, most of the time, they are recordings of you or someone making a sound. For example, take a microphone, record yourself whacking a pan, playing a slide whistle, stamping on the floor, etc... That is what makes it all so much fun!
Music programs are everywhere. I write music all the time and I use Finale 2003, which is a notation composition program that works based on midi. If you are not a musician, you probably have no use for it. I think you are looking for software that has various music you can use, if I am correct. I have a small program called SmartSound, used in creating royalty free music for Premiere. You may want to look into that.
