Cheap. Easy & Reliable Detonator

i found this in physics class - it got me a detention

but its invaluable for movies

simply take a piece of pacer lead (u know those pencils with the button u press to get more lead out) and wrap the postive terminal to one end and the negative terminal to the other, plug it in to a power supply (a 12V battery works well, like a car battery) and turn it on (helps to have a switch)

the lead will act as a filament and glow fiercely like a lightbulb for a few seconds until it breaks the and circuit is broken - but this is more than enough time to blow a pile of gunpowder etc

the best part is that none of the materials r ever gonna be illegal!

yes iv had fun attaching the power supply around my old electronics room to pencils lol... not to mention the fun which can be had with wire wool!

lol yeh it works well too
wat probly got me in toruble was i'd put a smoke bomb left over from filming the night before (it was still in my bag), in the sink and was using the detonator to light it

just a little off topic but , how did you make the smoke bomb?

I have been looking for a way to make one.

Before i start writing scripts, i want to test as many effects as possible so that would really help. Your detonator is a cool idea too. I must try that too.

just buy them they cost like Ã‚Â£0.80 for two, they are just little pelets that u lite and theey give off loads of smoke. plus if u crumble them up like black powder and put a detonator in the middle it all sets off at once in like a big mushroom cloud lol.

note that Cremora is coffe creamer - a friend of mine told me u can use flour too but i couldnt get it to work

yeh thats the trick - potassium nitrate is a banned substance for exactly that reason

I've used potassium nitrate on several accounts. However I had never thought to bake it in a cookie! If I can get my hands on some, I will definately try it.
