My First Film!

Post by xander »

Hey guys.

I am making my first film, called 'Enter The Eunoch'

It is a comedy-martial-arts-spoof!

The filming is going very slowly because the actors, well some of them are very unreliable and just dont turn up :(

also continuity will become an issue as the we started in spring and the next scenes will be snowy in winter etc!!

Keep watching this space as I will be posting the first part for your viewing pleasure soon!

But I was wondering, what file format do you think is best? Its about 8-9minutes long and I only have Adobe Premiere. The mpeg exporter in premiere seems pretty good, but Im not sure what file size it will yield.

What do you think?

thanks,
Alex

most people here prefer .WMV, and premeare will do that. A good encoding is to do it in Windows Media player 9, the encoding software is free to download from Microsoft, that's good so is divix.

I hate to say it, but I do prefer WMV to DivX...

The onlt reason I post mine in quicktime is because both platforms are compatible. If you didn't you'd have the loyal mac cult complaining that they can't download it. But besdied that little dillema, I prefer WMV as well.

If you want good video and sound quality while keeping the file size relatively low, use DivX.

Like Quicktime, DivX also works on Macs and Windows.

so its out of divx and wmv.

but i dont see either as an option in premiere!!

There is the premiere MPEG exporter, then in the movie exporet dialogue, the file type drop down list has DV AVI, AVI, Quicktime, animated gif, filmstrip, flc, and some picture sequences (bmp, tiff ...).

Does this mean I need to export the whole thing as avi, then re-encode it as divx or wmv??

thanks
