Apache 2 help!

Hey all, like what matt did with the forum!

Anyway, im trying to setup my server so i can re-host my website, been about a Year.5 since i've tried to set apache up, and the phrase comes to mind "if you don't use it, you lose it"...well i've lost it - anyone post a tutorial on how to set it up? Would be appreciated. Thanks!

The easiest way to run Apache, PHP and mySQL on your local PC is to use xampp.

I use this to test and develop my websites. I used it to upgrade the forum to phpBB3.

There is also Wampserver (WAMP), which I use occasionally.

Problem with both is that they are configured to localhost, and sometimes when I'm running complex secure scripts, I have to spend hours tweaking at the configuration.

I've had odd issues with xampp not quite behaving on my pc as it would on a web host but most of the time it is the best way to test new functionality before bothering to upload it to the web.

At the moment I am playing with jQuery
