lol, the power cables can add quite a nice sense of freedom to it. It goes about 20ft high. We are using it on a channel 4 program :-D

That is sexy... you should post some pictures for us. How did you build it? Welding? Screws and bolts? Love? Something else?

That's network TV. Please remember that not everyone lives in the UK, Pete1234 ;)

Saying that though, if you were filming something for network TV, why are you building a crane when you could rent one? (This isn't me being a peni5, just asking!)

In regards to the footage, camera wobbles a bit but very nice shots. I loved the one with the car coming towards the camera because it looked a bit sketchy and scary!

I built the crane before I started doing the channel 4 thing, and since it seems to work ok, we just used it instead of renting one.

The reason it wobbled to begin with was because it had big buckets as counterweights, and the water sloshed about.

There are some pictures but they are pretty old. i have upgraded it a fair bit now

I checked the crane thing and snooped around on youtube about using the crane... and well.. it was eyeopening experience. You can get really awesome and effective shots like that.
Now my mind is on crane, crane, crane.

Thanks for opening this thread ! :D :D :D
