Recommended Book!
If you're truely getting interested in being a cinematographer, I highly recommend this book, it's amazing.

21 different cinematographers work through this ASC (American Society of Cinematographers) workshop and explain just about everything they're doing. It's some sweet shiz!

I have been studying cinematography for a few years and my favorite books are as follows:
(If you are interested in cinematography, these are a MUST. DON'T go without them)
1. Cinematography (Third Edition) by Kris Malkiewicz ... ( I just read this, and it is amazing for FILM work (ie, 16mm and 35mm) )

2. Film Lighting by Kris Malkiewicz .. (Another amazing one on lighting)

3. Painting with Light by John Alton

4. The Five C's of Cinematography by Joseph V. Mascelli .. (Absolutely fantastic)

These are THE best cinematography books I've ever read, and I've read quite a few. These are definitely recommended.

The DV Rebel's Guide is quite helpful and interesting, written by an amateur filmmaker just like ourselves.
