Hi Guys, just found your site and what a godsend its gonna be.
Some friends and myself are going to put a Zombie movie together, but as a tester of our skills i'm filming us Airsofting using a RF Concepts Helmet cam.
I've done a small 1 min 34 sec clip and added in weapon sound fx but would like to add in some muzzle flash's.
I'm using Pinnicle 9 at mo, but have adobe prem also... just not as familiar with the later.
Is it possible to add the muzzle flash's in, using Pinnicle 9? and where do i start?
I have tried and my results are cr**....
Advice greatley appreciated
Cheers
Ray

There are many ways to do the classic muzzle flash:
(1) One basic, yet very effective method. Pick the frame at which the gun kicks and use something like Photoshop to composit a flash on to it. Then put this picture in the timeline at the right time for about two frames in length. You can do multiple frame editing if you want to, as well.
(2) This method is generally quicker, and some would argue more effective. Get a film/picture of a muzzle flash on a neutral background, use the "Colour Key" in more advanced programs to get rid of the background, then put this footage/clip over the gunat the right place.
Jeeze! We have so many muzzle flash Qs I'm beggining to think it should be a tutorial/sticky. You can add muzzle flashes in any program.
