Hollow Point Effect

For any of you who have seen Hollow Point:

Does anyone know how to get the effect in the opening title where the light flashes behind the title, "Hollow Point?"

It would be my guess that they used After Effects to get this effect. In After Effects 6.5 Pro, the program comes with a bundle of effects called CC Effects, aka Cycore Effects. One of Cycore's plugins, Lightrays, can achieve this effect.

you could buy a really good editing program for one of their effects packages... $600 at the cheapest!
