40 foot airial shots.
Hey gang, I just got a new toy!
a scissor lift! (like a cherrypicker or genie)
The platform is big enough to holdmy entire crew, with plenty of room.
And with the push of a button, up we go. forty feet in the air!
I can get some sweet shots with this, and I want to test it out. Any suggestions?

Why, do you like looking at fat, naked men?
My suggestion is to avoid power lines.

Yes. Yes I do.Epsilon wrote:Why, do you like looking at fat, naked men?
I can think of a bunch of things I personally would use this for - you could of course get some killer establishing shots, starting above building tops then descending quickly onto your actors.

RE: Re: RE: 40 foot airial shots.
Thats what I was thinking. And it may also be sweet for shootouts or chase scenes. You could get shots of actors manuevering obstacles and alley ways.
RE: Re: RE: 40 foot airial shots.
you could also turn your set side-on so you can use it as a dolly.
RE: Re: RE: 40 foot airial shots.
have a ground to air shot in which you uncover a large army or something, cloning could be done here

Film a guy running up the stairs to an apartment from the outside, where the camera follows him up five floors looking in through the windows. How's you get your hands on that anyhow?

Also this could be used for some nice fake helicopter shots, massive horizons or sky shots. And yeah maybe an army/riot uncover shot? In Team America they madea lot of sets on their sides etc. and they used things like 40ft cranes to get something more like 250ft (because of the scale) thort everyone should know that. Of course you could always use the crane as a prop instead in one of your films.

They are sortta slow for moving upward so I'd just suggest aerial still shots.

I like that apartment idea, I could totolly use that for an upcoming SWAT team movie.
I'll get some pictures and test video up soon.

A shot can be shot slow, stabilised, then frame-blended to speed it up too.DEDFX wrote:They are sortta slow for moving upward so I'd just suggest aerial still shots.
