Help me choose!

Post by Azmyth »

I'm starting some Low Budget Horror films (ala Evil Dead, Bloody Murder, Camp Blood, Death Factory etc.) Lion's Gate puts out alot of them. Right now, all I have is a consumer Canon ZR500.

I'm looking at these cameras.. as they are all in my price range. I'd rather that no cams be mentioned other than the ones I have listed. My budget is strict, so more expensive cameras are not an option.

Sony VX1000/2000/2100
Canon GL1
Canon XL1
Sony PD150

The PD150 is the most cost efficent, and seems to be a popular choice for this genre and for indie film making in general. I'm leaning towards it.. but was hoping I could get some reccomendations.

Swing for the fence and throw down for a Panasonic agDVX100b, you won't be disappointed.
