Hey! New here. Teaser to my film.

Post by TheMalteseJob »

Hey, I'm James. I'm new here. My friends and I have been working on this film for the past 14 months (basically redoing all the scenes we had done at the start since we improved so much since then) and have recently decided to start blogging our progress as we near the end of our journey (although we are planning a sequel ;) ).

Here's the link to the blog, where you can view the teaser. Let us know what you think! Feel free to ask questions here. Though it'll probably be nicer if you could comment on the blog so that the other members of the film crew can read what you've got to say :)

Btw, when I say film crew... I mean a bunch of friends. I'm 19. This is the first thing I've ever filmed, edted, etc... and my friends are all acting for the first time.

PS, the quality of the picture has been greatly reduced so that it could be uploaded to the net, plus it has been stretched into a square. It is originally filmed in widescreen and is of a good DVD quality.

Thanks. We're gonna try upload it to the net. Definitely going to be free... it's not like we can sell it anyway since we're using real music (Unfortunately, but for now it will have to be this way).

I think your compliment would do wonders if you'd post it on the blog hehe... according to the girls I used the worst possible shots of them that I could lol.

To Jperson, thanks for your reply. Did you mean you don't think the song is suited to the genre of the movie?

s***, i just deleted my own post doh!

Anyway looking really promising maltese, but there is never any excuse to use copyright music and it will take a fraction of the effort to get legal music than it is to mkae this film. So no excuses, get legal music for ur final copy!

Otherwise tell us about the story, who ur actors are and what equipment you used :)

Hey,

This film and its sequel (which is probably already more planned than this one) are really our 2 learning films. It's definitely been a learning curve, but I still don't feel we're ready to tackle something on a commercial level, so until then may as well use real music. But once we start something Proper Serious we will definitely be using our own music. One of the girls in the film has been composing a piece for the past 2 months and we may use it in the sequel.

Our equipment? Just my camera

And as for actors and actresses - friends who are giving up their time to take part. The ones who survive the first film and go onto the sequel have become pretty good at acting, but we're still aiming for a better level in the sequel. '

anyway, here is a scene from the film. It is actually one of the last scenes in the film, so you're not going to understand anything really lol...

Yeah, cool scene. And sorry I agree. Good girls :) Good everything it's looking like at the mo :) I'm so kind... And yeah I did mean music, but I posted that so long ago I can't remember what music it was and what exactly my prob was with it... :) Three smilies! But yeah try and use legal music. Some sites, like Channel 4 site give away s*** loads of free, legal msuic by like these unsigned bands...
