Hi guys,
A little over a month ago I posted a topic asking for advice in copying the style of Stanley Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon". Well, I just finished the short "in-class" project and it looks pretty freaking sweet for something shot in 2 hours.
We had access to acting students for this project, and (as I found out) we were able to film the entire scene using only candle light and it looks great. VERY Barry-Lyndon-ish!

(P.S. Some of you Tarantino fans may recognize the dialogue)

RE: "Barry Lyndon" An Exercise in Style
The lighting was superb, I found myself forgeting that this wasn't "professionaly" done. I can find no fault in it, except I did not like the long zoom out, it wasn't smooth enough to work in place of a good dolly shot.
I'm beating myself up right now because I can't place the dialogue!

I thought it was very good. I agree that other than the zoom-out (which wasn't too great) it was pretty faultless, and the Tarantino dialogue exchange (from the opening scene of Pulp, UFP) really worked, suprisingly enough.
Nicely done.

I thought it was good, though not very Kubrick like, except for the zoom from the candle. I found the credits in the beginning much like Hitchock actually.
