Okay, I am building a prop tomahawk to use in my movie. For the rocky axe head, I built it out of cardboard and duct tape. Obviously it has a duct tape look to it. Is there anything I can spray or put over it to make it look like stone while still being able to use it as a prop because it's going to be hitting people.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, coat it in some poly-fill and then sculpt it while it's still damp. Or paper mache can look pretty good if you take your time and smooth out and wrinkles.

Take the duct tape off, then grab a rock, smash a hole in the centre of it, put a stick or wood in there, and OMG ITS DONE!
Or if u love cardboard that much um.... grab some really good clear glue and put sand (the color u need) over it.
Also, why does it need to be a tomahawk 'made' from a rock and a stick? Why dont you just go down to the store and buy a small axe u can weild around. Make sure you blunt it.

How exactly do "smash a hole in the centre" of a rock?

hmm... i think you should put away the cardboard idea, and sculpt the head from dense foam. extruded styrofoam, or if you want something "safer"(even though styrofoam is real safe), flexible urethane foam. after that, cover the foam in papier mâché or fiberglass, and paint it as you wish. (a gray base with a white drybrushing at the edges, and black & brown speckling should look good if you want the "carved flint" look)
