iTunes 7...

Post by UFProductions »

... sucks. Anyone who owns an iPod, or uses iTunes for anyother reason should avoid it at all costs. F*cks with your settings, deletes music and kills any oportunity to skin either iTunes or your iPod, as I so pleasantly discovered last night.

A lot of software acts that way, only most of the time, the software has the courtesy of asking first.

Deletes music?

Yeah, a pretty piece of my Library went AWOL after I updated, noitably the "Recently Added" section, which amounted to ~ 200 songs. I had to find the MP3's, re-improt, and re-convert them (Which incidentally takes a hella' lot more time now too). My iPod has gone all screwey on me too, songs that appear and dissapear, playlists that I claim no responsibility for, and I'm back to using the ar*e-tastic stock iPod skin, my sexy black one went down the drain with the new auto-update shite.

Wow, sorry you guys had bad luck, I'm probably losing songs myself but haven't noticed yet. I'ts a big improvement (for me) since whenever I listened to Dark Side of the Moon it would stall between songs, unless I wanted it to fade and sounds worse. Now that it upgraded it moves from track to track smoothly, just like a CD player.

edit: 1 more post and I'm at 1,000 :D

I rolled it back to iTunes 6.0.5.20 and regained my songs, the space on my iPod and my skins. Now I can just sit and wait until Apple gets their shite together and puts out an actual wokable piece of software. I am missing that gapless playback pretty hard.

Yeah I was just barely having problems...I was trying to put music on and take it off my iPod but couldn't find the library because now it has some weird menu. Then I found out I had to press a triangle that made a drop down list. Now I am good...no problems.
