how do u get video from a vcr to a computer any body know? like wat wires etc

You'll need to have some sort of A/V inputs on your computer. Some nowadays come with them built right in (usually RWY RCA jacks and sometimes a S-Video plug). If you don't have these already there are lots of PCI/USB/Firewire aftermarket things you can buy. Dazzle makes pretty good stuff on the cheap.

I did it for our John Bunnell sketch for the CCTV stuff (put DV to VHS, then back to DV for the low quality look)
I have AV to DV capabilities on my DV camera. All I needed to get was a scart adapter with an input/output switch on it, and just plugged the camera in to the TV as if I was going to watch something (switching it to output instead though, obviously)
Other than that, you can probably get a WinTV card or whatever in Currys or somewhere for about £20 (whatever that is in Euros)
