New Film: "The Bridge" Production Photos
Began shooting today, we shot at two locations. One in a hospital, and two at a park. Here are some production photos.

Yep, that's a real hospital. If a trauma had come in, we would have had to pack in under three minutes and move out. Thanks, though.

Looks good, how'd you raise the money for all the stuff? (camera, mike, dolly, hospitol, actors)
RE: New Film: "The Bridge" Production Photos
Yeah how did they let you shot in the hospital? And can we know a little more about the movie?

Haha! Good work gyro, you've actually achieved some modest production values to your equipment that will definately make a really positive difference I reckon! I especially like the monstrous dolly (but it works just fine i bet onscreen and thats all that matters)
So what camera is it? (XL1? 1s or 2 etc) and did you hire it for the shoot? Looking good

All of the film equipment was rented from a small production studio that I work for minus the dolly which Kenny as some of you know made. My mother is pretty high up in the administration over a variety of IHC hospitals in Utah and she supplied us with a date and time it wasn't busy. Mostly, all you need to do is make connections and you will get good things. So far this film has cost me ... ten dollars on donuts that I bought for my crew.
EDIT:
It's an XL1s, thanks Lawrie!

Ah well cool man good for you, and yep you used your contacts well, and my god Kenny made that - brilliant! I really look forward to seeing the footage shot on that anyway!
So if you get a chance tell us about the film as its obviously on of the more ambitious projects attempted here !

Ah thanks Lawrie...makes me feel special.
Using resources is definetly the way to go, that's how it was done for "Five Cents" as well. Kind of thinking about it, it was a weird day...a hot air ballon supposed to land on a field right outside the hospital landed on a McDonalds next to the field instead and for some random reason there was corn flowing down a canal at that park.

Damn you, making me jealous with that beautiful camera. lol. Looks very good though. That tripod is very nice as well. Now I'm extremely curious as to what this film is about. Is this the 80's Cop Action/Comedy?

Nah, this isn't the 80's cop picture. This film is a short under ten minute project I'm doing for a variety of film festivals. It's more of an artistic attempt than what I've done before and the content is a little difficult to explain. One interesting concept, is the film isn't a silent picture, but there is no dialogue. Think about your most prized posession (actual thing, or even just a skill), and then thing about what you'd do if it was suddenly gone. Thanks for all the comments everyone.

Cool Dolly Track Video Clip!
Filming my new picture, "The Bridge" at a hospital. We used a variety of dolly track shots, so I thought I'd post one just to give everyone a look-sy. Tell me what you think.

RE: Cool Dolly Track Video Clip!
nice, but couldn't you have used a steadicam? It was good though. Did u build it yourself, because i am gonna start making one soon. If you did, how much were the materials? and is it hard work? I just recently built an arm crane for about £20
RE: Cool Dolly Track Video Clip!
You already posted this. Is this just so you can get more people to praise how awesome you are for having a dolly s*** in a hospital.

I guess I could have used a steadicam if I had one... but, they tend to cost a mess load.Magic-Man wrote:nice, but couldn't you have used a steadicam? It was good though.
