That was awesome. I think that the in-car sound was a bit harsh and could easily have been muted. Also, I didn't think that end bit really worked because the journalist character wasn't a very central character in the movie. Overall I liked it. The pictures of the MOLLE's you posted a while ago were awesome but the uniforms looked even better in action. Well done.
If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed.

I liked this film, well done.
I won't do a full review as most of the comments I would make have already been made. But, I will add two that have not been mentioned.
1. When the soldier gets shot and we see his leg it looks as if you have just poured some blood on the material. There should have been a hole in his trousers, and maybe more blood.
2. When the Helicopter pilot is rescued he seems fine. I would expect him to be a bit more dazed and disorientated. Also, he was hit in the head at the beginning, so I expected some dried, crusty blood in his hair from the wound.
Overall I give your film 8.5 out of 10. Story was fine, not original. Cinematography, editing and props were excellent. Acting could have been better in places. Keep up the good work.

Ok blardy blardy blah, amazing, fantastic, your awesome, let me touch you, now i've kissed your a** like the rest of the suckers in the topic, let me point out some parts I disliked.
Let me just say though Gyro, I've never been a fan, but this really was a great comedy effort. Hope to see more soon.
First things first, back away from the exposure. Talk about some high quality whiteness, way too bright and it's effective at points but really annoying with others. Now whether this is just some thing all you Utah kids do for the heck of it, or you really thought high contrast and over exposed shots looked good throughout, is your problem, but maybe try reducing it a little. I know your tryna make "Look how frickin pro I look" type esque, but cut it down a little chap.
This is more of a question than a criticizem, but why the skid mark is an ugly cr** heap of a car returning soldiers back to base. It's not very convincing, so before you splash out on hundreds of dollers of realistic costumes and armory, a car that would fall apart with on kick to the side, wouldn't really be in a war zone and isn't a very goo dcontribution to your film.
I alo noticed your raw audio, meaning a scene that wasn't thrown in with tons of other sound effects or Famous film scores from other war films you copied and added to make you look expensive, original and awesome, weren't very good. Most of the dialogue is not loud and is bogged down by the wind feedback. Maybe you should consider ADR or something?, because it really takes away any of the richness the movie may have.
Okay, about 6 minutes in to the film, we see a survivor, a girl laying with a bunch of people who were executed by the meanist Iraqi nob heads, is she not one bit traumatised by her experiance and what's happening now ? the acting lacked here and if a wooden plank was placed in her role, it would probably win an oscar. Maybe you could have made this more intense and really shown an emotional charector. Because I don't know about you, but If i was kidnapped and almost killed I would be mega p i sssssssssssssssed. But I guess she did well with the traumatized stutters which added to her Solid delivery. But on a positive note, to say she was kidnapped and almost executed she made sure her hair looked awesome.
The acting does improve though in the next sequence in the gun/car fight/chase sequence. The shot of her with a cheesy grin on her face really shows how intense it is to have cold blooded Iraqis just shooting the cr** out of you. Well done Gyro, but hey, a well shot scene, so good job.
I also noticed when the soldier fired their guns, there was no impact or reaction to the power of a gun shooting out 6 inch bullets. In the montage after the car sequence, the trigger and gun shots looked un realistic. So fix it.
And Finally, the ending was so random and the monologue was poorly written and I honestly didn't know where you was going with that.
All in all, the movie was a blaten obvious atte,pt to look good, however you fail miserbly because it'so unoriginal
Freed's score 2/10....your lucky i'm feeling generous....
As perusual Bring on the Backlash because my blunt opinion is like posien to you. Oh well.

Did you read all the other posts and see how I constructivly also contributed on how to make certain aspects a bit more better in my opinion, which far differant from every other post?....Or did you just try and make yourself look smart but trying to look quick 'edgy' by that post even though your shooting in the wrong corner.ProdigyFilmsinc. wrote:Freed, everyting you jus said has already been discussed, before. Did you even read the other posts? Or did you just watch it and try to make your self look smart by looking for everything wrong?

lol well even tho freed is being a total b*stard about his crit, he isnt wrong gyro (in this case), and that, rather than whether he is being nice or not is not entirely important.
A point to remember, is that cos many teens come here, there crits, are never gonna be the same as the people who don't know or like you me or any other filmmaker.
So while im glad not everyone gives crit like freed haha, im glad there is at least one! Cos while i don't agree with everything freed says (i think he was ott on the wheelchair movie) i think, his crit here is valid, in a very cruel but true way. (at least i can get what ur saying in this case freed, but wowsh need it be so hard!)
I would say much of this is the same kind of crit that could be applied to my half-effective effort. If you get time freed, if you could review mine with the same honesty id appreciate it,

Also im under no delusions of this films greatness so its all good haha ( i mean mine here)

I've said this before, I will not sugarcoat my opinion just to be gentle and polite. If someone's not made a good enough film, I will let them hear about it. When I chose to give someone feedback, I'm not like you other suckers, I'm direct and too the point because what's the point in keeping people from the truth?
I don't force anyone to read my posts and if you do, you really shouldn't be so sensitive like Gyro, to be offended by the direct honest truth. Alot of people hold back when talking to people and showing critique, which is bulshit, because it's not helping anything. I prefer to just straight out tell a geezer.
now all you Bitches are just gonna keep whining on about how I am with criticizm, if you don't like my attitude or my 'No bulshi't policy don't read my posts or get a Moderator to delete me, because non of your opinions will ever make me re think mine.
As for your film, I don't take requests and I only state my opinion when I feel is right, but I will say, I did check out your trash, and I will say that alot of people, especially Gyro could learn from your movie. Good job.
