Living Grave

Post by redlightoncamera »

Here is a film that I have made a little while ago..

http://www.freewebs.com/growlingdog/films.html

You should be able to right click & download. If there are any download problems please let me know.

Tell me what you think of camera work, editing, etc. I also accidently had the dark mode on in editing so that's why it may appear saturated?

I just watched your film. It was pretty good.

The Good:

Some nice shots. The camera work tells the story well enough.
The news report was well done. The reporter looked too young though.
The acting was fine.
The blood looked good.

The bad:

The story is not original.
Not your own music.
Your final shots, and other shots were used in the beginning, thus spoiling the end.
There was a jump at 01:25. Needed longer on the shot before.
The kid looks at the camera and smiles.
At 02:29 there is a jump where you have cut the footage.
When the kid is being chased he is smiling.
When the kid's dead body is seen you see blood, but the T-shirt is intact.
The kid moves when being buried. This is explained when the body reanimates.
Ends abruptly with no promise of an explanation.

Overall it was a good little film, but there was too many simple mistakes. So, hopefully by your next film these will not occur. The acting was mainly fine and the shots were good.
I give this 6 out of 10. Good effort.

Thanks for that. I try my best to get them to not laugh, lol. By the way the running guy is my friend and the guy that dies is my brother. I am the guy behind the camera :)

For about 4 minutes of film i wouldnt say you spent long making it. The editing was good overall and i liked the murder scene and him being dumped into the grave. There wasnt much dialogue, only about 4 or 5 lines but then again it is only a short. The way the killer jumped out just seemed a bit out of the blue. I noticed, the music from RE1 in it near the end, and what was the whole thing with the hand coming out? Watching it reminded me of myvery first slasher films that i made

The hand coming out shows that he was buried alive, therefore giving the name of the movie "living grave"

Needs more dialogue...

The grave wasn't deep enough. Thus non-realistic.

Some editing is good...What editing program are you using?

For that I used Sony Vegas 6.0. I think it has a lot of great feautures. Though I atually made that film late last year, maybe a month after I got the program, that is why some editing may be crappy.
