Another lil war skit 2

Post by Magic-Man »

Hey, i created another lil war test thing. This was just to test film look and shizzle. I also wanted to test tracers looking 3d. They may be a frame to long or whatever but....whatever. Enjoy

you keyframe them to get smaller as they go up the screen so it appears that they are going forward instead of going up, if you see what i mean.

The camera movement as well as the bullets flying by gave it an awesome cahotic effect. Well done!
If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed.

Very nice, I liked it. Everything looked quite good, however the bullets seemed to fly a little slowly. A sharp pointed piece of metal traveling at over 900 feet per second would seemingly move a bit quicker than that. I personally think making them move faster would enhance the quality of it, but meh, it's your movie.

I don't really like your tracers. What are you using to make them?

you do realise zac that i have answered that question on the other topic in which you POSTED it.... i filmed it on a DV camera and edited it with premiere pro.

And the tracers, i just got made some pictures of like yellow lines, whats wrong with them? I know they are travelling a little slow as i mentioned in my first post. How would you want them to look?

i had the thin ones but everyone said they were too 2d looking. argh, i can't win.

Any one got any ideas or can give me tips on making good ones?

edit: Looking back, when i compress them, it actually doubles them. Look at it and go frame by frame on the tracers and youll see what i mean.

they were very good, my only problem is that they went off into the sky. try and make them vanish into the horizon, rather than upwards.

The skinny ones, try blurring them (fast blur horizontal). And maybe adding a glow if the blur doesn't help.

The tracers should Glow. They are there for a split second and disappear. Also there seems to be a black ring around them from the keying.

Well I'm taking a guess that you're using AE, so if you're not, ignore this post. Try using the beam tool though. It can be used in a 3d space, and has a built in glow (which sucks, if you want to add a glow, use Ryan-W's glow, the same as the lightsabers.)

Ah, ok, i will try that out. Yeh i can key them out and make them thinner, i don't know how to make them glow though. I have tried a glow in premiere but it glows the actual picture, not the keyed out picture. They do look better thinner, i just need them to glow. I also tried blur when i was making it and it didn't seem to do al that much, so can someone tell me how to make them glow. Is there a filter on Premiere? Cheers

edit: No i am not using AE for it, but i see what you mean.
