It probably wont work at all but if I were to put food coloring inside my fog machine liquid would it make the fog that color?

my mistake, you can make smoke using bacon, you need chemicals to colourise it

You could definately mix dye with the syrup in a fog machine. Whether or not it'll harm the machine, I cannot tell you.
