I liked it for the most part. There were a few times where the audio was a little too loud and it crackled a little bit on the speakers. Some of the acting could easily be told as amateurish in a few parts but overal good job. When is it looking at being done and what's the status with it's release (like straight to video, select cities)

Cool stuff. Definitely looking forward to seeing it. I'll admit, though, I'm a war film "purist". Regardless, It'll be interesting to see how you all managed to combine two genres.

Only one thing I saw wrong: The grenade that rolls next to the guy is definitely a dummy . . . the bottom is drilled out! Thats alright, I doubt most will notice and even fewer will care.

One other question for you. Who did your physical effects (explosions, bullet hits, etc.)? I'm a pyrotechnician at heart even more than a film maker, and I've done a good bit of special effects for amateur films. Just hoping to establish contacts with those who do it professionally. May be a future career for me after the military.
Best of luck!

We're done in a few days. One more tweak to the sound mix, one more visual FX shot to insert and this baby is put to bed.

I'm anticipating a cable TV then DVD deal. I doubt it will be in theatres except when we do film fests, sci fi & horror conventions etc. Japanse DVD should be out in a few months. We;ve already done that deal.

Rick Fike did our onset FX work. He was very good and safety conscious. A web doc is forthcoming about his work on the film in a few weeks.

One other question. What camera and sound device did you use? Also, I noticed that some of the vechicles look like ones from the game Battlefield 1942. Are they? And if so, are you allowed to you them?

NO vehicles or 3D models were taken from a video game...

The 35mm film camera was a BL, and the super 16mm was an Arri SR2. For sound we used a DAT recorder nad multiple boom & wireless mics.

That looked really good. Who did the B-17 animation?
Who ever said digital is better than film should hang for treason.

Don Drennan did the 3D planes (the B-17 and C-47's, the P51 Mustang is real).

JoBlo.comSays some really great things about Horrors of War!

"Think SAVING PRIVATE RYAN meets RE-ANIMATOR meets DOG SOLDIERS, i.e.- a buttload of fun and good times! How cool is that? And after checking out the trailer, I'm sold- this one is gonna blow the other DVD completely away!"

and my personal fav, "SonnyBoo, in a genius on screen collaborative move, has combined the true-life horrors of the Nazis in WWII, and the fictional horrors of zombies and werewolfs in their latest feast called HORRORS OF WAR!"

How's THAT for a kick a*** quote?

After watching your behind the scenes videos, it still amazes me how professionally you took this indie. Very inspiring.

We went through Ascent Media in Burbank. They gave us a good rate. Right now, EVERYONE will give a good rate as the film guys are losing money like crazy. Tell them you can't afford the price they quote so you're going to shoot on HD and they will give it to you good & cheap, as they should. Ascent gave us a good enough rate we didn't have to do that.

Ever since you mentioned this film a while back, i was intrigued by the unique storyline, and above all, how proffessional it is. The trailer looks pretty damn good. Keep it up. I am very looking forward to the final product.

IFILM.COM is playing the trailer for HORRORS OF WAR.
http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2354099

Today added the trailer to the home page of Ifilm.com. This is another major coup for Horrors of War and we are proud that we got approached to have the trailer on their site in every format there is on the web.
