Post by aaronv2 »

Hey Guys seemed a bit quiet around here in the effects section so I thaught I'd post a simulation of two different liquids interacting that I did yesterday.

that was really good, but was it just me or did ti seem that there was very little gravity, either that or the fluids had ALOT of energy

Oh wow I like how the physics of the water looked. Very neat effect. What 3D program did you use?

It was Realflow that did all the fluid dynamics and then it was rendered out in Lightwave... The gravity was normal 9.8m/s/s maybe it was just the fluid speed that gave it so much energy i wanted alot of splashing around or else it wouldnt have been worth the day of calculating it took haha.

I got another one rendering now where the water affects objects and makes them float but its taking about 17 minutes to render a frame because of all the raytracing

Off Topic!! I'm having a problem starting a new thread in the Special Effects forums. Each time I hit the submit button, I get the "Page cannot be displayed" Its been doing that since last night. I am able to do a quick reply to a post but I cannot start a new one. Has anyone else run into this problem?

haha its funny im doing a liquid metal/water stream hitting each other hopefully that is going to be a raytracing nightmare too haha
