Who wants to make me a flak jacket??

Post by townshend88 »

ok, anyone good with sewing or know anyone thats good? i need two bulletproof jackets and i dont know where to go to make them. i guess im not really serious about paying one of you to make them, i doubt any of you can sew either. but any ideas on how to go about making them, where should i go, etc? they just need to look good, (obviously) not stop a bullet.

EDIT: well, i mean i WOULD pay someone if the price was reasonable and the workmanship good.

Just got to a clothing store and buy a padded vest that's black, that's what I have and it looks somewhat convincing.

First of all, FLAK jackets are not bullet proof. They are FLAK proof. Hence the name, FLAK jacket.

Second, it would be far more productively effective to simply purchase a real FLAK jacket then build one.

if I remember right, a flack jacket just looks like a very overstuffed vest/jacket.

Modern styles are similar, but in woodland camouflage.

the majority of modern flak jackets/bullet proof vests (or whatever the hell you wanna call em) are actually quite simple to manufacture. for example, the armies flak jacket (has one removable plate in the stomach area) is basically a tunic which has one velcro part which wraps around to the front

No, THAT is a bullet-proof vest. Interceptor armor uses the removable ceramic plates. You can find those puppies as cheap as $500 used! :)

Yea by kevlar, but not by a steel or cramic (I can't spell it!) plate. But it really differs from vest to vest.
