Hey Job!
Thanks for the kind feedback.

So...
How's the WeatherBlenders FXWar entry coming along?
Haven't seen any updates from you guys in a while.

(BTW, I'm directing the Rio Hybrid entry)

Cool Monster. :)

The FXWar still has four weeks to go. It's not over yet and there are a lot of really good projects developing. I wouldn't presume to be the "winning" entry, but thanks again for the kind words.

As far as the apps (you left off Shake & C4D ;) ), many (but not all) of those are standard issue stuff that anyone in the PixelCorps can use for learning and non commercial stuff like this as part of their membership. My primary skill in 3D these days seems to be matchmoving, so I'm mostly impressed by what the team has been creating with those apps. The updates we post on the FXWar thread are generally a few weeks behind the actual work. Most of what's being shown lacks the level of detail in place at the moment.

You should probably take a look at the PXC: http://www.pixelcorps.com
I know of several members from the Netherlands, one eventually did some work in Hollywood as a result of the contacts and skills he developed in the PXC. It's a whole different level of training and resources.

Here's a sneak peak at a behind the scenes video from our live action shoot (will likely get posted as an update at CGT later this week):

Have fun. :)

do you need a sweet artist on your team or what? haha

i remember developing flash freezing sort of thing using null controls and texture maps... the cool thing was as the texture went down it would create random particles on the surface that you can use to clone little ice crystals growing off the side it was really cool. i think i will have to wait for the next one how long do you have until these things finish or maybe i should just read it...

I liked that behind the scenes. If I ever get to see the final project I'll look for the behind the scenes camera sitting there haha. I'm sure you probably put it out of frame though haha.
