The President steals the gold and legs it off, JUDGE ME!

Post by mickcar73 »

Me and my friends did this scene for our cop movie/ tv thing. Anyway it takes place after the terrorists have been killed when the president picks up the briefcase full of gold and points a gun to my friends head. This was my first time using muzzle fashes and digital stuff. Anyway please tell me wat you think of the scene :P

In my honest opinion, the movie was horrible. It had bad editing, and bad sound quality. All in all, just not very good. Sorry.

That was horrible. But i'll tell you why so you can learn from your mistakes.

1. Windows movie maker is fine for starters. So don't go buy yourself a expencive editor just yet.

2. Use a tripod!!! Your camera was waving like a cameraman in baghdad.
It makes your film look like america's funiest home video's.

3. Practise your editing. Try to make the shots follow fluently after each other. (use storyboards, it helps a lot while filming and editing)

4. Try to avoid continuity mistakes while changing shots.

5. Well I really have no idea how to explain this since i'm Dutch butt i'll try.
There is a rule in filmmaking that forbids you to go over the ash. If you film someone from one side. stay on that side. Never go, for example 180 degrees, when changing shots. First you shot the one guy from the left, then from the right and then from the back. That is confusing to watch.

6. Never ever touch that zoom button again during filming. It's basicly textbook rule number one. It make the film looks like a family vacation video.

I hope this helps you improve your filmmaking.z
