I just finished watching it. Great job! The cinematography was awesome, especially the crane shots like the one of the tree at the beginning (reminded me of the Village, for some reason). Good acting, and locations. Was that dog meant to run out in front of the soldiers when they're crossing the field ?
I really liked the music, also. It matched the film perfectly in emotion and timing.
What was the song called that was playing during the production openers? It gives a very exciting feeling to the film...
What more can I say?
Great job.

Thanks man for the feedback! And that song played during the production opener is "Ride the Dragon" from the Shrek score. And no, the dog wasn't meant to run across the field; but I felt it didn't harm the film in anyway to see a dog on screen.

Supreme job. I thought the acting could have been a tad bit better, but with the costumes and supreme editing it totally made up for it. Supreme. 3 and a half stars.

That was really amazing i loved it....I think that it was really cool that you acctually based your film on acctual events and a real person. It was great.

The acting was a bit weak for me, and at points kind of ruined the mood. The crane shots and all that were really well done great stuff, along with the costumes, which impressed me to no end. The whole thing could have been draw out a little more even, so you get a chance to actually connect with characters.
I think my favorite part was when the gerneral was drunk, and then was completely sober for battle . It always happens in movies.
Really good job though, from one Canadian Boy to another.

Thanks for the feedback, and I am surprised to hear that you thought the movie should of been longer. With it already begin 50mins in length, I would of suspected people to say it was too long to begin with.
I hope more of you guys get to see it soon.

Yeah, the key 'romantic' parts that basically drove parts of the story seemed really impersonal, so a few more minutes spent on that would have given the story more cred in my opinion.

s***, that was pretty good.
I loved some of those crane shots (the one at the end was the b est where it rises and the guy is running with the flag). May I ask what kind of operation you used for the crane?
Was this a school project? Because if it wasnt, im amazed at your dedicated actors. (I even am it if was).
Whered you get all the muskets? They looked a bit long but they did the job.
Awesome Job!

I liked it as well, but I'm going to agree with TheChad about the love story, you really could've built that up a bit. There were in some instances when the Visual Effects just didn't work, I saw a few times an explosion that landed about a foot from the person and they didn't even move.
ok, i have seen and it is great! where did youget the music for the lightwave enthertainment? it sound like shrek! also may i ask how old you are. and how many years you have been involed in filming?

Thanks for the feedback guys!
In response to tallman: Here's a link to an old topic on the crane http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/forum/view ... hlight=jib
(Sorry, but's so so old, most of the pictures no longer esisted on the topic)
And yes, this was a scholl project. An I'm amazed that I got 25 High credits for the film! (And you only need 100 to recieve a High School dipolma! And like a 5 monnth English corse is only 5 credits.)
The Muskets were homemade by myself out of 2x6's and thermal tape. And they are not too long. They are the exact dimensions of the real things. Even I was amazed by how long the guns actually were back then.
Oh yeah; I live in Edson, Alberta, Canada. It's a small hick town pretty well between Jasper and Edmonton.
In Response to windog: As stsed before, the music in the opening logos is from Shrek. And I'm 18 years old, and I've been making movie since I was 12. My first film being "Who Killed Regis Philibin?" lol! I laugh when I hear that title.
When I have some time, I may post some pictures of the props/equipment/sets/and other tings i took while filmming.
Other than that, enjoy the movie.
