what to check for pd150 before buying???

buying a PD150 if any of you have one, could you tell me what i should check before handing over the money?
The camcorda i'm buying has no manual and the person selling it doesnt know how to work it, so it you cant tell me couple of things before buying let me know thanks!!

man, how many questions are you gonna ask about this camera? if you're that questionable about it, I'd say don't buy it, you've asked about 5 or so different questions concerning it.

No manual? I wouldn't buy it unless you can find a manual a. ebay or b. online somewhere

Other than that I know nothing about that camera except that lots of documentary filmmakers use it for location shooting.

Check the hours on the menu, nt sure what the sequence is but the manual should detail it.. will show head hours, drum hours and threaded hours... gives a good indication of how hard the beastie was used. Drop a tape and run a few seconds of video, review in the PD and another DV cam to make sure head alignment is on. As with any used cam, look for dead pixels on viewfinder/lcd. If you see them there, then run some tpae and see if the problem is dead pixels on teh VF/LCD ( no a really big issue) or if it's dead on the CCD

Dead pixels will leave a blue or black square in the image - again a dead pixel in the viewfinder or LCD screen won't show up on tape, a dead pixel in the CCD imagers will ....
