EDITING SOFTWARE. WHAT SHOULD I GET?

Post by Headless_Duck_Productions »

Right now, I'm interested in purchasing some editing, CGI, special effects etc. software. I've read about all the different programs but I'm really not sure which one will give me the most for my money? If anyone could give me some advice on which software is the best it would be greatly appreciated. Here's a list of all the software that I've looked at.

I have Blender, Final Cut Pro, and Bryce

(I'm pretty clueless about many of these programs so if anyone could explain the pros and cons that would be great)

After effects
Combustion
Borris FX
Maya
Carrara
Lightwave
Cinema 4D
3ds Max
Poser
Red Giant

(If anyone has any other suggestions on programs that I have left out please tell me)

Mac or PC?

Apple make the best editing software, for 800 quid you can get final cut studio which does video and sound editing and basic CGI and animation with the bundled software.

For PC, you can use adobe premiere which is about £500
