yeah another shitty thread - honestly guys why treat the forums like a chatroom?

It's the actual death of interesting discussion and debate. Folk coming to matts just see rows and rows of posts to irrelevant threads that smack of idiosm.

I'd rather see a thread from gyro about cinematography, something from K about his new film, er ornsack discussing his comedy etc etc

Your artists and you should all take yourself more seriously, and if your new to threads read the previous posts first instead of spouting the same old cr**! Go read what some of the wiser guys have to say on these threads and contribute something useful!

PS - Also learn to spell scumbag we're not all 12 year old ipod wearing teens that appreciate your cell phone - web speak.... (the capitalist equivelant of Orwell's newspeak no less.)

Or i know, why don't you actually engage in something intelligent instead -which for you would be placing your head in a gas oven and seeing how long it takes to cook dinner...

This a forum. Not a text message. You can spell correctly because we all do. And you don't have to be an nob, that's my occasional job.

I am sorry. I should spell correctly. I should also look before I post a new thread. I am in the wrong. All of you are in the right. However, I would still like to know what the pros and cons are to using Adobe.

Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Haven't used FCP, the pros of Adobe is that I don't need a Mac to use it. :p

Since I don't use FCP, I can't compare them, but I know Adobe. I jump between Photoshop to Premiere to AE and back when I'm working on stuff, and I guess it all seems to work pretty well together. If FCP came to PC I'd probably give it a try at least.

...well it is? theres no denying it - premiere pro is a complete carbon copy of final cut - and lucky it is, or it would be compleatly useless...

Pete1234... I've used both and can say they are both great. If you say Premiere is a 'carbon copy' of Final Cut, then would Final Cut be a 'carbon copy' of Premiere Pro? If A=B, then B=A.

Anyways... It's not what editor you use, it's how you use it. I bet someone could make a better movie in Windows Movie Maker than someone with Avid, Final Cut, or Premiere, as long as the story is good. Editing can make or break a film, but that's not the only important part of a movie. Hands down, the absolute most important thing is the story.

It's hardly a carbon copy. Final Cut came out in 1999 for the first time, as far as I can tell from wikipedia. Premiere has been out for much, much longer. I would say Final Cut is a copy of Premiere! But seriously, all editing programs are similar in at least some aspects...because they all do the same thing!

I take the film I filmed on and then I cut the frames I don't want and then tape them to the frame I want it at. My grandma tells me I'm a natural.

Premeire is much older, I used that and videoshop (eventually avid's digital offering) back in the day on Mac OS7 :)...FCP was purchased from macromedia years ago. I use Final Cut Pro.
Low/No budget cinema that looks like a million Bucks!

even though it came out before FCP and was initially for mac.

who is your second quote quoting?

The original premiere might have been around before final cut, but the recent versions of premiere are complete copys of Final cut 5 and 6....

The mere fact that adobe originaly produced premiere for mac just proves what Ive been saying all along - mac is better for video production
