What do you use to edit your movie and how much did it cost if anything at all?

This comes up all the time. Why dont u just get AVID or something? Its used by professionals in ALOT of movies. 'Blade: Trinity' and 'Mr. Nice Guy' for example.

Because, afaik, the industry standard AVID which gets used on a majority of Hollywood films (Media Composer Adrenaline with Avid DNxcel) is part of a turnkey system that needs specific, compatible hardware. You can't leech it off Bittorrent.

I personally use Premiere Pro 2.0, but I've worked on both Avid Symphony and Final Cut Pro 6 for film school work. Definitely prefer Premiere, mainly because I'm not a big fan of the Mac OS and Avid is a lot more linear in terms of structuring clips.

Also, why out of all the movies you could've mentioned, did you decide to use Mr Nice Guy and Blade Trinity as an example? :S

Premiere Pro 2 for editing, AE 7 for compositing. I also use a bunch of other stuff like Boujou, XSI, Max, Photoshop... I only own the licenses for Premiere and AE, but my university rather conveniently has academic copies of other stuff. They even have Massive (the crowd sim software used in Lord of the Rings) which I hope to give a go at some point during my degree.

Vagas video version 3 was 600 and the upgrade to 5 was 200. So I have spent to much, and I'll probably end up moving to 7 at some point.

It doesn't matter what you use, just what the end result is.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

You can spend $2000 to get the Adobe package, but if you can't edit, people will love what a pro did in movie maker much more than what a noob attempts to do in a high end program.

We have an avid editor system at work and I can do just as good with Adobe Premier what they can do with Avid and it doesnt cost 15,000 for adobe software. Avid sucks!

Corrrrrrect. Anything that makes my life easier, however, is a winner in my books.

I still use at home premiere 6.5 because it is solid and does the job fine for me. I can update at anytime to Pro but I am happy with it

Pinnacle Studio verson 10 but I upgraded it to Pinnacle Studio Plus. Pinnacle Studio v10 costs around £60 but I got it for £40 because I got it with my camera. The Upgrade was £19.

Wow no one uses Pinnacle apart from me!
Ok, who pulled the pin on this one...
