Ways to get actors motivated....

Post by MadCowFilms »

Okay, I haven't filmed any :Powers in over a month and I'm starting to get annoyed. My actors always seem to have other plans, or to make other plans to avoide filming. Is there anyway I can get my actors to WANT to film? I need to film more :Powers

This has never been a problem for me, :) , *gloat gloat*.

Anyway:

Get them excited about it: they've probably almost forgotton about :Powers by now if you haven't filmed for that long.

If they have emails send them emails with maybe like pictures and short clips, like I did, try and make a trailer, even if you've barely got any bita from thte film, and then show this to them.

And when you want to film, ask them all well in advance, and as soon as you've filmed once, try and film quickly afterwards.

i don't seem to have that problem wither

i don't moan at actors to be filming every weekend because they all have lives, instead i'll plan well in advance so that everyone is free, like jperson said get them excited- make them want to film, make it out like you're doing them a favour by letting them act in your film

We usually stick to small groups of actors, mainly unemployed ones so they have no excuse ;)

Back in the day when we weren't so motivated I used to edit footage together and make it really glossy-looking so they could see it was something to get excited about

I'm running it past my co-producer/director (Rob) to hold auditions at school for the parts of Tim and Sam so we are sure to get motivated actors who are dedicated to doing it! Oh well. This'll be delaying :Powers another week. But, whatever it takes to make a good movie :D

I don't have funds. And I've got an amber light for doing auditions at school as my teacher is asking the higher authorities.

What do you need an amber light for auditions for? Are you interrogating them? lol

I have a method that elliminates this problem. Hire actors who are professional enough and have friends who are true friends and wont let you down, simple as that. I never get this problem, mainly because I make sure I envolve myself with really cool people, not a bunch of fools. but you could try money . . . .
