"Cool" Fight moves?

Post by Jowka »

For this new movie I am making I want the fights to look really snazzy (kinda transporter stylee)

I have some ideas for like neck snaps, power punches, combos and use of environment etc.

But do you guys have suggestions on "Cool" moves/sequences?

i dont want it to be too martial arty. . .

I do Jujistu so Im going to bring in elements such as blocking, possibly some throws, and locks. . .

Im thinking more along the lines of:

http://www.transporter2movie.com/trailer/clip02.html <<that

My first location is in a print factory/office. Im thinking using the machines/equipment and stuff like that. It also has an upper level over the factory floor so Im thinking of like climbinjg that and having more people to fight on the different levels. . .

I just wanna get some snazzy choreography, to make it look stylish

I think that idea would be extremely hard, unless you have friends that know choreography like that.

Saying you don't want it too martial artsy then talking about Juditsu is kind of what you weren't talking about. Just choreograph it with punches, kicks, blocks and using what around you (in the woods grab a stick and fight with it, in the street find pipes).

Jujistu isnt really that martial arty - not like kung fu or tae kwon do. It teaaches street self defence, striking with power etc. So its not like flying kicks and fairy cr**

You shood do a scene where a guy gets his adams apple ripped out or eyes. That would look cool if your looking to do a violent movie. You should stick basic stuff too(punches, kicks, jumps, hand movements).

The use of your environment, and a handfull of reversal moves (I got a few I could show you if you want, including a reversal on a gun in the chest where you end up ripping the offenders trigger finger off) plus your standard "Guy1 punches Guy2 so hard he smashes some kind of office equipment" things, but make sure you mix it up. Don't use any move to much, and if its really memorable, only use it one. Good choreography and cinemetography will make or break any and all fight scenes.

if ur in an office setting and you want some cool blocks and moves and stuff, think standard equipment. You mentioned transporter style, well if you remember in the first one where he blocks a bunch of bad guys with the doors of the containers on the ships, you could do blocking like that with a photocopier (like the big ones in offices). Have a guy throw something or punch or whatever the hell you want, and block it by opening the photocopier. Another option, strangle a guy with one of those longass office telephone wires. A stapler is just asking to be used. Moving on, if you have a paper shredder handy, i dont even have to outline what you could do with a bit of fake blood and the right camera angles. good luck

Also, you could have a chase through the office cubicles, and have them kick them over and stuff.
